Frame It Kit

Frame It - Funky Forest Border...................I bought this kit back in January after the product release and it has been sitting in my stash since then.  I decided today to get in and make it.  I love the way it turned out.

I think that for $24.95 this kit is fantastic value.  I just love these frames.  I admit that I altered them a little by adding the flowers and not adding the speech bubbles that were included, I still love how they turned out.

I adore this photo of my little man Jayden.  I love the water coming down around him!!

My Cheeky little Princess Mackenzie telling me "Smile Mummy" as she pulls some sort of strange face.  At least she let me take that photo!!!

Let's Scrap - Sketch Challenge

Well I am back with a Kaszazz creation.  This Double page LO is a sketch challenge over at Let's Scrap

I have used all Kaszazz products for this LO and they have worked wonderfully.

This is my take on the sketch

On this page I have inked the edges of the paper using Victorian Velvet Distress ink and my Ink Blending Tool.  I have then used a couple of different printed papers to give some variation.  By placing the rub-on tree onto some transparent plastic sheet I have then cut it out and raised it with magic mount.  This gives the page some more dimension.  I have also used the frame from the same set of rub ons and placed it around the photo.  I have used stickers for the Title and placed a strip of sticky bling rhinestones under the 'feeding'.  I have used some organdy ribbon and threaded it with some cotton in order to pull it and make it ruffled.  I have then used some design adhesive with some cotton candy glitter - just for that little something extra.

This is my second page in the Double Page LO.  This page is fairly basic.......... I started off by inking the edges in Victorian Velvet distress ink.  I have then used the same paper that I used on the 1st page to mount my photos.  After mounting the photos I lined them all up along the sides evenly and added some sticky bling rhinestones between the photos.  I have then placed the large photo in the middle.  I have used a rub-on from the same packet as the 1st page and placed it at the bottom of the page.  I have then added some journalling at the bottom as well.  I was unsure about what to put in the space at the top so decided to use some more design adhesive to fill in the space, it also helps to tie the 2 pages together a bit more.

Hi Everyone

Lately I have been caught up in colour challenges and have loved them so much that I wanted to share them.
With the help of my gorgeous friend Gracie I have managed to create a new blog (Gracie did most of the work) what I had was a bit of a disaster.

Kaszazz 2H Workshop Published

Well today Kaszazz released the March issue of the Kaszazz Star and upon reading it I discovered that Kaszazz has published the Page & Card submission that I sent in last year.
I was soooo excited that I have not stopped smiling all afternoon.

Color Combos Galore

Ok Ok, so I have become addicted to Colour Challenges.  I have come across another website that does Colour Combos................... Color Combos Galore. 

As with my last post I did contemplate this one all week as well, I also got it done last night in just over an hour.  It was my first ever attempt at stitching on cardstock, using my mum's old sewing machine that she has probably had since before I was born.  I actuall don't mind the way that it turned out - yes I was going for this kind of thing.

This week was an interesting week for me with the colour challenge.  After contemplating over it all week I finally came up with something at the last minute.  I knocked it out in just over an hour.............. I usually take about a week to do a LO.

The Color Room #48

Wow I am a bit late with this post, didn't realise that I hadn't actually posted it yet.  I have been busy making some gorgeous ribbon roses, lace flowers & lollipop flowers. 

Last week was palette #48 over at The Color Room. 

This is what I created.  I personally love it with all of my handmade flowers............. I am getting better at making these, the more I make (and there is a lot of them now).

New Craft Room

My Craft Room

Well I finally had a win in the craft room battle.  I got what I wanted!!!  After some strategic re-arranging of furniture, and a small compromise of where his computer was going I have my very own craft room.  I have given him a desk in my craft room for his computer (taken up mostly by my very large printer) but other then that I have the whole room all to myself for all of my stuff.  It is fantastic to have an entire room, rather then just a corner in a room.  I am really enjoying having room to work and spread out.

Whopping Candy

Well I am going to have my first attempt at getting some "Blog Candy".

FLOWERS

Well thanks to YouTube I have learnt how to make flowers from satin & lace.  Yesterday I stocked up on my satin & lace supplies and got to making some of these gorgeous flowers in order to master the technique.

TCR #47

Memories

This weeks The Color Room challenge is over and I just wanted to share my creation with you. 

This LO was inspired by the doilie background that I cut with my cricut.  I absolutely love my cricut and everything about it.  I didn't want to cover to much of the background because it is just so pretty so I decided to place the photo with minimal embellishments in the bottom corner so as to leave as much of the background showing as possible.  I choose a photo that is of me when I was little,  I haven't seen photos from my childhood in about 15 years but was recently given copies of some.  It is fantastic to actually be able to see photos from my childhood again.  I was under the impression that these photos were gone forever.  I love this photo and thought it was the perfect photo for this LO.  I didn't want to put a title for the LO over the background so instead I have put it into part of the doilie background which I think works wonderfully.

The Color Room



TCR - Palette #45

I have recently discovered a fantastic website called 'The Color Room'.  Each week there is a new Colour Palette that is followed in order to create a LO.  I have so far completed 2 LO's.  Although I have not used just Kaszazz products on these LO's I think they are fantastic and I wanted to share them.  I have really enjoyed the challenge's for the last 2 weeks, not only have they given me a chance to use up some of my non-Kaszazz product, they have also given me the inspiration to create again.  Admittedly I have somewhat lost my creative mojo and The Color Room is helping me find it again.

This first layout is palette #45.  It was a gorgeous mix of purples and soft greens.  I love these photos of Mackenzie.  She snuck off and played in the puddle of water.  She thought she was being sneeky but it wasn't the case.  The handmade flowers on this LO have been made out of the same papers that are used on the LO.  The butterflies are stamped and punched out of vellum.  They are then covered in kindy glitz.  I loved this colour palette and personally think that it all comes together beautifully.

 Palette #46.  The subject of this LO is my gorgeous little man Jayden.  He got rather upset watching me do the #45 Lo and was wondering why I make these "pretty" flowers for Mackenzie and not for him.  So I decided that this LO could handle some flowers.  I have had the paper bark for a while now and have been wanting a LO to use it on.  I figured this would be the perfect LO for the bark.  One of my favourite photos of Jayden I think this LO is gorgeous.  He was rather pleased with it when he came home from school and I showed it to him.  "See mum, I can have flowers as well, they are not just for girls".

My Princess Turns 3

Well it was my little princess's birthday yesterday and it is hard to believe that the last 3 years have gone so quickly.  It was a fantastic day............... first she woke up to open up all of her presents, this included ripping them open with her teeth which was just adorable.  There was a lot of concentration being put into the opening of the presents.  Once they were open they were just thrown aside so the next one could be ripped open.  She seemed to be impressed with all of her presents that included Zhu Zhu pets, a Dora the Explorer bean bag couch, books, a new swim suit (which is gorgeous) and much much more. 

We then went on to have some lunch, and then it was time for cake.  I made Mackenzie a Tinkerbell cake which I think turned out pretty good and the birthday girl seemed pretty impressed with the outcome as well.  The cake was a double layer sponge and it was decorated with whipped cream and buttercream icing.  She was so excited to blow out her candles.  She had been asking me for 2 days before hand where her candles were and if she could blow them out.  She was so excited about finally being able to blow them out that it took her 6 attempts to get the 3 candles out.  Daddy helped her to cut the cake (it was a sharp knife and she wasn't using it without help).  She did such a good job and was so proud of herself.

After the cake was done we went for a drive and took the kids swimming.  They all had a fantastic afternoon.  There was fun had by all that included jumping off the rope swing, going for a walk down the creek, playing in the blow up boat or just swimming in general.  It was the perfect thing to do for Mackenzie's birthday as she absolutely loves the water.

All in all it was a great day and Mackenzie and all of the other kids had heaps of fun.  I am still having trouble believing that it was 3 years ago that I had Mackenzie.  The last 3 years have gone by so fast.

Bad Timing

Well yesterday I got a fantastic present.  I got a Cricut.  It came with the Cricut design studio and the Cricut Jukebox.  I am yet to get a larger collection of cartridges............ it did come with Accent Essentials and Plantin' Schoolbook, however the more cartridges I have the better I think.  So I have been busy playing with my Cricut, I am yet to work it all out properly but I am having fun none-the-less. 
So anyway, I got my Cricut yesterday which is just awesome, however the bad timing of it all is that Cyclone Yasi is due to hit the coast tomorrow.  I am located in a potential storm surge area and may have to evacuate my house.  So whilst I am able to put things up high and in cupboards ect.  My house could still get flooded.  This could be potentially devostating.  So I am going to have to come to terms with the fact that I am going to need to pack the Cricut back up and put it away so that it can't get hurt........... fingers crossed.  I think it is very unfair that I have to stop playing and get prepared to have to leave my home.  For all those located in North Queensland who may be affected by Cyclone Yasi............ Stay Safe. 

I will be back when everything returns to normal.

January TTD - Workshops

Ok Ok I know I said that I would upload photos tomorrow of what we created today at TTD.  I couldn't help myself.  I had to finish off the LO today.  You would think that after a full day of playing with Kaszazz stuff that I would have had enough.  Not so, I just can't get enough.  I feel like I have finally gotten my mojo back and it feels good.  I love TTD's.

TTD Competition Entries

Well as per my previous post, we had TTD today and I just wanted to share with you my creations for the Competition that is held at TTD.  The competition this time was to create something that used the Sticky Bling Words that Kaszazz sells.  These words are fantastic and very pretty.  I decided to make 2 entries (we can make as many as we want).  My baby sister Storm was the inspiration for the first one.



My Gorgeous baby sister Storm was the inspiration for this one. 


Storm is forever taking photos of herself, and why wouldn't she, she is gorgeous.  I have to steal them off her facebook page (yes she knows I am taking them) because she is to far away for me to just get copies of them.  I found the one of her with the guitar and just knew that I had to create something special for her.  I think it turned out beautifully.  I have a beautiful baby sister who has now been the subject of what I consider to be a couple of gorgeous layouts.

"5 Generations of Women in my Family"

 My inspiration for this Page & Pocket LO was the "old" photos that I got of my mum and grandma.  I was so thrilled when my brother came to visit bringing with him a huge packet of photos from our childhood.  Mum came with him and she came bearing a USB that was full of photos from her childhood.  It was fantastic.  There was a huge selection of photos that I had never seen (mum's childhood) and another huge selection of photos that I honestly thought I would never see again (my childhood).  Seeing these photos, and getting photos of my grandmother who died when I was 6 weeks old was enough to make me want to scrap the generations of of women in my family on mums side. However I only wanted to go back through the generations that have been there in my life.  This included both of my great grandmothers on mums side who were both with us up until recent years.  There is nothing more important in life than family and I love my family more than anything.
